How to Copy your Web Site Pages Using HTTrack

HTTrack is a great free tool for copying your web site. See Link.

You may want to copy your web site for a variety of reasons:

  • To backup the web site
  • To copy the Web Site from WordPress so you can edit the documents in word and publish them elsewhere.
  • To edit the documents in word and translate them into pdf’s.

To run HTTrack, do the following:

  • Download the latest version such as: httrack-3.49.2.exe
  • Install the Utility by right clicking on the file and selecting “Run as Administrator”
  • Create a new Directory to use as a Repository for your downloaded Web site – for example: “C:\Users\dconn\OneDrive\Documents\Dev\Web Sites\Think4Now”
  • Open the tool and Enter the following information:
    • Project Name: Think4Now
    • Project category: Web Site
    • Base Path: C:\Users\dconn\OneDrive\Documents\Dev\Web Sites\Think4Now
  • Click on Next
    • Add Url: https://think4now.com/
  • Click on Next
  • Click on Finish

The download should complete in about 60 seconds – depending on the size of your web site.
